Hempcrete 201 - Take it to the Next Level with a Natural, Carbon-beneficial Material

In this continuation of Hempcrete 101, we dive into the details you really need to know to utilize this bio-composite material. Through this course, you will delve into design and construction details, review the specifics of costs, source material supply, and obtain building approval from officials. Overall, learning what you need to join a fast-growing industry.

During this presentation, Alex Sparrow provides a detailed review of the design and construction details for wall, roof, and floor build ups, with detailed views of junctions at sills, floor plates, eaves, and, window and door openings. Alongside the technical drawings are illustrative construction photographs.

Tom Rossmassler will focus on how to apply this knowledge in the United States, delving into material sourcing and supply, costs and carbon impact, and permitting details to help contractors, architects, engineers and owners obtain the permitting required to build with hempcrete. Hempcrete functions in tandem with a host of other natural building materials, so we provide US material resources to accompany each technical drawing.

Hempcrete 201 streams live to you on Friday, August 14th at 8 am Eastern Time as part of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) BuildingEnergy Boston Conference. Registration is available through NESEA’s website.
